I wanted to capture the moment when the trees almost disappear into the sky in the evening. Hence my use of the most light-absorbing materials I could think of: velvet and pastels. The only thing was that because these materials are so delicate, they had to be behind glass, which obviously negated their light-absorbing qualities somewhat. In the end I decided to use salvaged window frames, as we are at least used to looking through windows and ignoring the reflections in their panes. Click on a picture to see a larger image. |
